Swivel Seats: Scopema Seat Swivels review

Review:
The two prime contenders seemed to be the Scopema and Alpine Mechanisms swivels. While the Alpine Mechanisms kit looked very slick, the Scopema requires no metal cutting, is approximately half the price, and also is DOT approved. Good enough for me!
Our van came with fully powered seats, which I was concerned would add complexity to the installation. It turned out to add zero extra complexity. Our van also has the electric parking break option, which made the installation even easier. It also appears that the 2022 model does not require any plastic trimming. Easy peasy!
The Scopema installation should in theory be extremely straightforward. The driver side took about 20 minutes. The passenger side swivel unit seemed to be slightly misaligned (hard to say if it was the the seat base or the swivel unit), and just a few millimeters off made for about an hour of muscling.
Overall, this was a fairly straightforward installation, and feels like a quality product. There is no wobbling or squeaking in the seats when driving or sitting, and the added height to the seat is fairly negligible. I like that I can operate the release lever while sitting in the seat.
Pros:
- No drilling or cutting necessary
- Very high quality and robust build, no squeaking or rocking while driving
- Works with full power seats and power emergency break
Cons:
- Hard to rotate when seated
Overall: A+

Review:
When looking for mattresses to fit inside our van, we were originally looking at the standard “van life” products. A lot of these are sort of foldable or stashable mattress products that were both expensive and not super comfortable looking. We didnt think we would be stashing our mattress anytime, so those “features” seemed fairly useless to us. We also wanted something to exactly fit our bed frame (with notches). Mattress Insider fit the bill for a super high quality product that was made exactly to spec. They also make fitted sheets and hypoallergenic covers to go with the custom mattress. Amazing.
Pros:
- Super comfortable, feels like a very high quality home mattress
- Sheets fitted to exact size, including cutouts
Cons: (none)
Overall: A+

Review:
Floor mats seem like they should be super straightforward, but for whatever reason, my searches lead me into a bit of a misstep initially. I bought WeatherTech floor mats which promised to be perfectly fitted to the 2022 Sprinter Crew, but ended up being a fairly poor fit with a huge floating gap over the center floor air vent. (I wish I took a photo.) I ended up buying OEM Mercedes rubber mats and they fit like a charm. Terrawagen is a fantastic supplier and manufacturer for plenty of Sprinter parts, including OEM mats.
Pros: They fit like a charm
Cons: (none)
Overall: A+

To people who want their van the easy way. To the people who don’t want a project.
